Gundam en masse and on BluRay too no less, the Western landscape for the franchise has changed quite dramatically since 2011.With series like Gundam: The Origin and Gundam Thunderbolt revisiting the classic era that Mobile Suit Gundam is based within, it makes a lot of sense to allow people to see how it all started and what these new series are referencing.

Currently the Mobile Suit Gundam movie trilogy is only available on DVD in the West, again courtesy of Right Stuf. This means these online versions aren’t in high definition. However, considering that these movies are over 30 years old having them viewed in standard definition is not necessarily a bad thing.
The Mobile Suit Gundam movie trilogy is now free to watch until September 21st on YouTube, with the first movie linked below but you can also check out the second and third movies as well.
My only piece of advice in watching these is to do them back to back in one sitting. They are edited down from the original TV series, so the pacing works as one long movie in three parts rather than as three separate movies.
